- JCONV-DD Manual

-
- The basic operation of JCONV-DD is extremely simple. You just select
- files in the finder and the drag it to the JCONV-DD icon. JCONV-DD
- icon will invert when it is ready and as you drop it on it, it will
- start processing the files.

- Fig.3 Drop the files.
-
- Upon dropping the files, you have four options to choose from:
-
- 1) Do nothing
- 2) Press and hold the Shift Key until JCONV-DD starts up.
- 3) Press and hold the Option Key until JCONV-DD starts up.
- 4) Press and hold the Command Key until JCONV-DD starts up.
-
- 1) (Do nothing) will cause JCONV-DD to (i) auto-detect the code of
- the input file and (ii) convert it to New-JIS file with extension '.jis'.
-
- 2) will cause the same as 1) but the output will be in Shift-JIS. You
- press the 'Shift Key', and you get a 'Shift-JIS' file. Quite straight
- forward, isn't it? (extension '.sjs')
-
- 3) will again cause the same but instead of JIS or Shift-JIS, it will
- result in 'EUC'. (extension '.euc')
-
- 4) will bring up a modal dialog: the command mode. This will be treated
- in Chapter 2.
-
- In a moment, the following dialog will appear.

- Fig.4 Progress Bar.
-
- The first line tells what it is doing (Note: JIS can mean one of
- New-JIS, Old-JIS, NEC-JIS).
- The last line tells which input file JCONV-DD is processing.
-
- You can press Cancel to terminate the process.
-
- Unfortunately, the Progress Bar does not appear correctly on a
- B/W screen. (I'll work on that in the next version, hopefully.)
-
- The resultant files will be placed in the same folder as the
- original file.
